My Vocal Training

I began with Classical Voice training at age 14 and majored in Opera Performance. In New York I transitioned my sound to musical theatre and contemporary styles.

I've studied with renowned teachers, coaches and pedagogists on both coasts.

New York:  Matt Farnsworth , Jeannie Lovetri, Craig Carnelia, Tom Burke, Sherri Sanders, and Jen Wal

New York:  Matt Farnsworth , Jeannie Lovetri, Craig Carnelia, Tom Burke, Sherri Sanders, and Jen Waldman.

California:  Heidi Moss Erickson, Peter Grunberg, Matt Liebowitz, Jenny Matteucci, and Daniel Lockert.

My teaching style with children is informed by the research of pedagogist Dr. Jenevora Williams , a specialst in children's voices, and by resources and repertoire from Nikki Loney's  Full Voice Academy.

Lessons Age 12+

   45 Minute Lessons:

The duration of the lesson is more about their vocal stamina than their age. Tweens new to singing may be better served with 30 minute lessons as they begin.

The same foundational techniques are covered in a 45 minute lesson but with more time for repertoire.

  • Technique Exercises - Still fun, just challenging students

Basic piano can be incorporated.   An aim at this level is for the student to learn vocal melodies on the piano from sheet music.

In deep gratitude to my foundational teacher Elizabeth Nohe Colson, (1925-2017)  Her students won Met Opera Competitions and have careers in opera and classical music. She taught in the summers at the American Institute of Musical Studies in Austria and was Classical Singer Magazine's Teacher of the Year 2005.

Reach out with any questions! Happy Singing!
